September 3, 2012

Hi Dallin,

I need a good pic of you to put on your plaque at the Stake Center.  The pics you've sent either have a shadow across your face or you are with someone else....or whatever.  Take a nice pic and download it so I can get you up on the board.

It's Labor Day and I have the day off.  Yea!!  I get to labor at our house :)

How has your week been?  Have you had anymore investigators? How is Elder Musick liking the mission?  I love the idea about you going into RS to teach the women how to more easily share the gospel.  I'm going to share that idea with Sis. Bennion, our RS president.  Dad and I were eating Sunday dinner and wondering where you might be having dinner that day.  :)

We've had a good week.  Busy as usual with work and church.  Vance is feeling better, thankfully.  That was a scary situation. Saw Caleb at chuch yesterday.  He was having his mission interview with the Bishop and then he'll have his Stake President interview thereafter.  He's very excited now to get his papers in.  Connor Reid got is call to Arkansas- same mission as Eli Webster.  It's exciting to watch these boys move forward, no matter what the rate of speed.

It's interesting how much the dialogue has increased about the church due to Mitt Romney's run for the presidency.  They had a piece on the National news about temples and garments.  Elder Ballard and Elder Cook were asked some good questions and they answered them really well.  The other day, Dad had a sub-contractor riding in the car with us and dad keeps a Book of Mormon on the center console.  The guy was blabbing on about his ex-wife and then stopped mid sentence and said, "are you guys mormons?"  We had the nicest discussion where I explained the need for a restoration. He said, "thank you for telling me that.  That is the best explanation I have ever heard and it makes sense."  It was great.

Well, I better get this sent off.  We are going to make an attempt at cleaning the garage.
It's like laundry.  It never goes away.

Love you!

Mom

                                                                             Hey!
What an awesome story about your missionary moment there in the car! On Sunday we ate with the relief society president, her husband, and two little guys. She made some incredible rolls, and we set a date with her to invite her friend to come to dinner with the missionaries.

So something amazing is happening in our ward. The missionary fire is lighting. We had members testifying about their experiences in investigator lessons that we had them along for. They testified in all three meetings of church. People are getting excited! That makes me excited. We are so close to having a miracle take place in first ward (the miracle being a domino effect in member referrals: mucho people coming unto Christ).

So we have two new investigators that are pretty solid. One is a nice old lady that is progressing just like Patricia did. We even mow her lawn and everything. Her name is Carol, and we found her when I was out with that mini missionary a while ago. We also took a lady named Melanie on a church tour.
She liked it and wants us to help her quit smoking. I am so excited to see what happens this transfer.
I don't feel like I have enough time, but I know the Lord will help us accomplish his will.

We found a new apartment in North Liberty, which is the heart of our area. When we move we will save tons of time and miles when we have the car. I don't know if I told you, but our area is a car share area again, which          means no car every other week. It is more interesting that way.
Elder Musick is progressing really well. He is still nervous about alot of things, but it will get better.     He is a stud.
All is well. Please pray for our members to keep getting excited, and for Carol and Melanie!

I love you
                                                                           Elder Tall
